In my younger years I wound up doing things I wasn’t happy with. I was following the herd and trying to fit in. Then I’d think ‘why did I do that?’ because it wasn’t really me.
These days I’m at peace with myself – that’s the true freedom. When you’re comfortable in your own skin –you don’t care what other people say, do or have. And you’re all the more able to enjoy them because of that.
Being true to myself isn’t about impressing people but about having what I really want for myself. And what I really want it a life that’s genuine and free.
‘Above all else, give me something that’s real!’
I can’t stand affection and pretence. Doesn’t matter whether it’s how a person behaves or how a building is put together. It’s got to be real. ‘I don’t need no plastic people’.
This is the next episode: Freedom is top of my list of ‘must haves’ in life.
