I always say you can tell a lot about a man by the things he loves and hates.
So here goes, Mate, on the things that delight me and wind me up and the people I look up to in life.
I’m always open to new ideas – why don’t you tell me what your top ten are. You never know, I might find something new, or we can enjoy hating the same irritating things!

Right now, these are the top ten things I love in life. That may change – watch this space! I’ll let you know if some gorgeous Sheila sweeps me off my feet or I join a monastery!
- Freedom. Waking up in the morning and knowing that I will decide what to do with the day. I’m not beholden to anyone else and I can choose what to do with my time. It’s a freedom that comes from financial independence as well as knowing what I want to do. I’ve worked hard enough to be able to do what I damn like!
- Fresh air. Getting outside – I feel freer when I can feel the wind on my face. It usually means I’m up in the hills, riding a tractor or truck around the land or on a beach doing something I love.
